Jayanth Kashyap Balasubramanian is an impact investor and climate finance leader, recognised for deploying capital into industrial climate transition across Asia. Over sixteen years, his career has spanned PE/VC research, impact venture capital, SME private debt, blended finance and impact advisory. In 2023, he was selected as a Gender Lens Investing Fellow for Asia by 2X Global.
As Investment Lead at the Good Fashion Fund, he led a US$19 million blended finance vehicle through deployment across India and Bangladesh, and helped shape a proposed US$60 million successor fund and US$2.5 million technical assistance facility. He remains a field builder and practitioner voice on climate transition finance, focused on people-centred action, industrial transformation and catalytic capital.
My mission is to make capital work better for the enterprises, people and communities carrying the burden of climate transition. I connect strategy, capital design, incentives and local evidence into approaches that can hold in practice in underserved markets.
Now based in the Netherlands, he works on the deployment side of capital flowing from European philanthropic and institutional sources into South Asian and African markets. He holds an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where he served as Director of the Oxford Seed Fund. Outside work, he is an avid digital and film photographer and is slowly learning Dutch.
